36 Commuting Solutions, a nonprofit transportation group focusing the U.S. 36 corridor, also is sponsoring the 36 Prize Riders contest through Aug. 3. Commuters in the U.S. 36 corridor who travel by bus instead of in their own cars will be eligible to win an iPad 2, Kindle Fire or commuter bike every week. Participants need to visit 36commutingsolutions.orgto sign up and log their trips on one of nine U.S. 36 regional and express routes. Those routes are AB, BV/BX/BF/BMX, DD, DM, HX, L, S, T and 86X.

Audrey DeBarros, executive director of 36 Commuting Solutions, said the first run of the incentive program in 2011 pulled in nearly 600 participants and led to a reduction of 21,521 vehicle trips in the corridor and a savings of nearly 26,000 gallons of gas.
