Posted by Chris and Patty Clark on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at 9:52pm.

The 4 of July is not only a holiday with fireworks, BBQ’s, parties and so on ...it really does have a true meaning that I had not really paid attention to since I got out of high school.

A LITTLE REVIEW.......

During the American Revolution we separated from Great Britian on July 2 1776.

The Declaration of Independence was prepared by a committee of 5 being led by Thomas Jefferson and approved on July 4 1776.

The soldiers were so happy they shot off guns with a lot of screams of happiness.  The gunfire has now turned into fireworks.

In 1928 congress changed Independence Day to a paid Federal Holiday.

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were presidents and died on the same day July 4th 1826.

James Monroe, the 5th president, Dded on July 4th 1831

Calvin Coolidge, the 13th president, was born on July 4 1872..the only president born on July 4th
