The Denver Zoo Light Show
The Denver Zoo has the most amazing light show every year as a tradition.
The Zoo sits on 80 acres in in Denver City Park located at 23 Ave and Colorado Blvd.
The Zoo was built in 1896 and there are 3500 animals with 650 different species.
If you are visiting Denver the Denver Zoo is one place that you would have fun for a day... maybe even 2 days.

Christmas trees are everywhere this time of year, but have you ever stopped to think about why so many families and businesses put them up each holiday season?

The best parts of Christmas for me, besides the presents of course, are all the Christmas light displays in Arvada, CO. Every year there are so many new and unbelievable displays put together by residents in all areas of Arvada, CO. The time it takes to put something like this together takes months!
It has been a tradition in our family for many years to go out one night and drive a route to see all the spectacular displays. The Rocky Mountain News, now the Denver Post, use to put out routes for each city of the best lighted homes in your area. There now is a list online that you can print yourself of homes in your area that have been photographed and submitted for the lighting contest that the Post is hosting.

I've been to breweries before, that were basically a restaurant that served their own beers. So it was a pleasant surprise when I stopped in at Arvada Beer Company a couple of days ago, to find a unique place sure to become a well-loved favorite hangout for locals.
The owner, Cary Floyd, took a few minutes to chat with me, and tell me about their fun venue. Located in the heart of Olde Town Arvada, at the corner of Olde Wadsworth and Grandview (just across the street from the Archive Room), Arvada Beer Company names their brews after well-known local historic icons.

Winter time is upon us and so are frozen pipes.
Basements are natural targets for excess water, due to their position as the lowest point in any home and the fact that water loves to run downhill. It is always advisable to make sure the landscaping surrounding a home slopes away from the structure for a distance of no less than 10 feet.
